(More customer reviews)I love this press! For being plastic and coming with two plates, this is more than enough for my family and I. Both of my children, ages 3 and 1 are allergic to dairy, soy, and eggs so a majority of their diets come from fruit and veggies.
We use our press with potatoes, tomatoes, watermelon, and I've even squished a few cooked apples through here in a pinch. Easy clean up with nothing more than hot soapy water and a quick rinse I may just buy another so I have a back up.

Oxo Good Grips Smooth Potato Masher Review

(More customer reviews)Finally I can make mashed potatoes without using my mixer. I am a quadriplegic/tetraplegic (C5-6 for thos who care) and I can use this tool. Traditional potato mashers just require more grip than I have in my hand. Plus the horizontal handle makes the pushing easier, as well.
My mother with mild arthritis likes this as well as her traditional masher.
As with most Oxo tools it is highly ergonomic: it fits the hand and does the job it's supposed to.

(More customer reviews)I was suspicious about purchasing it since it is made in China; when I got it I was pleasantly surprise. This is a great potato masher. It is very sturdy and ergonomic. The head is actually oval unlike other mashers that are round or square and because of this design it fits into a pot much nicer. I didn't get the Rosle masher because I don't like the ring around the base of the handle. I may want to use two hands to mash because I have small hands and that idea would not work well for me. This masher is really great.

(More customer reviews)I actually use this tool as a pomegrante juicer! It works exceptionally well. I didn't want to pay $175+ for an electric pomegrante juicer, so I opted for this one. It's perfect for the little pomegrante seeds. By the way, this is a really easy tool for making mashed potatoes. The stainless steel is easy to wash. You can also put it in the dishwasher.

Rösle 12780 Potato Masher Review

(More customer reviews)After having several other potato mashers fall apart on me during the most inconvienient situations (i.e., while mashing avocados for guacamole), and nearly being impaled in the process, I bought a Rosle. The difference is phenomenal. Rosle's products combine great ergonomic engineering with high-quality stainless construction, and the masher is no exception. Its design allows the cook to combine just the right amount of force more precisely, resulting in effortless and lump-free mashing (no more problems with cranky avocados), and it cleans up easily. I've had mine for over a month, and suspect it will be the last potato masher I'll ever buy -- unless, of course, I need an additional Rosle.

Calphalon Nylon Potato Masher Review

(More customer reviews)I have a girlfriend but when I'm in the kitchen, Calphalon is my paramour.
Which is why this masher saddens me. The other reviewers have it right, smooth design, sturdy construction, gets into tight spaces, and a strong tactile response. But those are things I look for in a hammer, not a potato masher.
The mashing end is HIGHLY inefficient: holes are too small, plastic supersedes the space available for pressing food through. And so much is stuck in those holes and on the underside of the masher once you're through. A plain wire masher won't scratch your nonstick pans (assuming you're acquainted with finesse), isn't a tenth as wasteful, and is MUCH more efficient.
Bottom Line:
I strongly suggest getting something else to fulfill your mashing needs.

(More customer reviews)I replaced my old aluminum potato ricer with this new plastic one. I am very happy with it. It was much more comfortable in my hand when squeezing the handles, and riced the potatoes thoroughly. It cleaned up great in the dishwasher. Highly recommend it.

My brother reports that she LOVED it, and the whole family got a real kick out of reading everything on the packaging. The packaging? I've never seen it. But I'll take that as an added feature of the product. :)

A potato masher based on the old fashioned ski pole (note the cross stitch detail on the back of the rubber handle). It has an ergonomic easy to grip rubber handle that allows you to hold it from the side or from above. The mashing plate really works well. After much testing, we found a design that pushes the mashed potato away from the stem to help it mash faster and self clean. The packaging is our usual style and it also comes with Martin's Swiss grandmother's recipe for mashed potato. We want to show that designed products can be made affordable without compromising their quality. The aim is to create innovative products that will charm and entertain.
