(More customer reviews)Although the product design is indeed safer than the most common mandolines, the pressure required to push the handle prongs into the holder are too demanding for older users of this equipment and I found that inserting the prongs into an onion was very difficult. The black plastic side bars that engage the stainless steel ridges slip off the ridges too easily and should have a J shaped holding device rather than the L shape presently available on this model. It cuts well however.
