Picked up one of these at my local department store. The unit itself has 7 ports for plants. Although its designed for hot pepper plants you can also grow other things such as smaller tomato plants and herbs. I currently have Tobasco Peppers, Jalapenos, Cayane Peppers, Sweet Basil, Curled Parsley, Cilantro, and Cherry Tomatoes. Cost me about $22 in total for all of the plants.
Theres not a lot of room to maneuver inside once you get some plants in. I agree with one of the reviewers that the hardest part of this unit is putting the plants through the holes. I actually almost ruined a few plants putting it in and I'm very careful. I also agree that its best to select smaller plants for this unit. Don't worry, they'll grow fast once things get going.
If you plan on using this with a Shepard Hook, buy an S clip as this unit does not come with one. It does however come with 1 hook which screws into wood. You need to drill a pilot hole in the wood to install the hook.
